The estate was in an attractive location, surrounded by picturesque countryside. We enjoyed learning about the history and daily life of the past. The tour guide was knowledgeable and the pamphlets provided valuable information.
The lack of dining options on the estate, and were forced to bring our own food. the accommodation was overpriced for the standard of the room.

Had a wonderful Xmas stay at this historic estate. Loved the charming cottages and the cozy atmosphere. the self-contained cottage was a perfect mix of history and modern amenities. the staff were friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. the beautiful gardens were a delight to explore, and the ability to roam the estate and imagine life in the past was a rare privilege. Being able to do our laundry in the cottage was an added bonus.
not being able to take photos inside the house was a missed opportunity for capturing the unique interior.

The guided tour of the historic estate provides a fascinating glimpse into the past, with rooms dimly lit by torchlight adding to the ambiance. the knowledgeable guides offer interesting insights into the Archer family history, and the adjacent Rose Gardens are a picturesque sight when in bloom. the cafe on the property offers reasonably priced meals, and the staff provide excellent service.
Interior photos are not allowed during the guided tour.
